A Literary Movable Feast across Tahoe City

Memorial “statue” for the lamented beloved landmark “Big Tree” which gigantically stood for 125 years in the middle of the main road in Tahoe City. Cut down in 1998 due to disease (and tourists running into it).

The Festival, back for the second year was bigger and better!

MillValleyLit editor Perry King poses by Blue Agave Totems at fabulous Gatekeeper’s Museum where several workshops were held.
King presenting his workshop at the Gatekeeper’s Museum library on Beat influence on the Grateful Dead hippies, Dylan, Doors and more. He played music of the era and attendees were given opportunity for hands-on improv poetry writing, reading, and poem-jamming.

 

Open Mic night M.C Scott Green, of Tahoe Poetry Collective and founder of Poetry in the Parks managed to squeeze in 25 or so readers, thanks to his vast M.C. experience.

Jesse James Ziegler Reno Poet Laureate does an impromptu mash-up of two poems.

Nevada County Poet Laureate Karen Terrey commands the mic for her read.
MillValleyLit editors introduce magazine mascot Biscuit to his ancestor Chewbacca. Tahoe City Art Haus & Cinema, the most comfy venue (and best popcorn) for several of the Festival presentations.
